- Go natural! The repellent coating on nonstick pots and pans contains PFCs, which are linked to liver damage, cancer, and developmental problems. When heated to high temperatures, it releases chemicals from the frying pan into the air and your food.
Wouldn’t you rather get iron than Teflon with your meal? Cast iron is the natural non stick pan alternative. A pre seasoned cast iron pan is a naturally non stick surface! - Fortify your health! Cast iron doesn’t leach chemicals. Research shows it does increase iron levels, though. With iron deficiency a common problem in American women, switching to cast iron is an easy, healthy choice.

- Care for it simply! Cast iron cookware is so easy to clean. Just hand wipe it. You can use a small amount of warm, soapy water. If you’ve heard not to use soap on cast iron, that’s a myth! The only thing you don’t want to do is soak it. You don’t have to oil it each use, you just need enough oil to grease the cooking surface evenly before wiping any excess oil away with a paper towel. Seasoning cast iron is easy and should be done 2-3 times a year.
